A Glass A Day Could Help You Beat Breast Cancer

The modern facts about cancer is that cancer seems to be about as common today as the common cold and many people conversing about the many cancers that are curable as well as the many that seem to be treatable for whatever reasons. As far as cancers are concerned, if you happen to get news telling you that cancer has found its way into your life, breast cancer is one of the better cancers to have to deal with simply because it is easily diagnosed. Beating this disease can be started by taking the steps to reduce the risks such as routine doctor visits for detection reasons that can often be lifesaving.

Over the years there have been several mis information campaigns circulating such as under wire bras and antiperspirants being the causes of breast cancer, but these are not true or valid and very nonfactual. The real facts suggest that no one is really sure of the true causes of breast cancer or what combination of things cause it. Many people find that they can be empowered by doing self examinations themselves by running their fingers over their breasts and report any concerns of tissue inconsistencies to their doctor. Finding inconsistencies only mean that you can take the breast cancer a little more seriously, but it doesn't necessarily mean that you have breast cancer.

One of the best ways to find out early if you have a lump that may be potentially cancerous is by way of a mammogram. While this procedure is usually recommended for women who are over the age of 40, they are also recommended earlier on for those who have a history of breast cancer in their family. And while many women worry about the amount of radiation they receive from their routine mammograms physicians claim that there is only a very low dose of radiation emitted during this exam and that it is still more beneficial to do the test than not to do it.

Experts have also been quoted as saying that a drink a day can help to reduce a woman's risk of breast cancer, however, most are now feeling that while drinking intermittently may help ward off breast cancer, that drinking too often could be detrimental to a woman's health. And while alcohol may help, a glass of orange juice rich in Folic acid is probably the best choice to improve a woman's health.

Most doctors will agree that it is not so much what you eat, but rather what your weight is, that is a bigger risk factor in the case of breast cancer. Being overweight is a red flag to most all doctors and health care professionals as well as experts as key indicators that you are at a bigger risk of cancer and that being overweight has other common health issues that stem from excess weight. Weight reduction is a very good way to start your journey to reduce your risks of getting breast cancer.
