The place has got the significance also for the reason that the forest nearby Kanha has provided the inspiration to famous author Rudyard Kipling for his well-known novel Jungle Book.Bandhavgarh National Park is another sanctuary in India where a large number of tourists visit every year in months of February to June. The park remains closed from 1st July to 31st October. It is located at 197 km away north-east of Jabalpur. The national park belongs to Vindhyan mountain ranges of central India and the highest density of tigers is found here. One can spot about 46 to 52 tigers here now. Nilgai, Chausingha, Chital, Chinkara, Wild Boar and Fox or Jackal are some of the attractions which are liked by the admirers of wildlife. The place is popular most for white tigers which are unquestionably very rare. This park can be visited with full joy on elephant back or four-wheelers.
