Celebrating Childrens Day

"Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future"

This beautiful quote reminds us time and again that childhood is special and that it should be revered and celebrated. Every year as a token of unbound love for children, this day is celebrated on 20th November the world over.

Childrens Day in India

In India though, this day is celebrated on 14th November, because this date symbolizes the birth anniversary of the distinguished freedom fighter and liberated Indias the then first Prime Minister, Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru. All across the nation, this day is celebrated with huge pomp and festivities as homage to Nehru and his immeasurable love for children.

Celebration Galore in Schools

On this day, children indulge in lots of fun filled activities. Almost all the schools organize cultural programs where the kids are encouraged to participate and display their skills at various events. One such school which is dedicated totally to the over all development of a child in all walks of life is Mothers Pride where every year on this particular day, many fancy dress competitions, games, dance performances etc. are organized ensuring the complete participation of all the kids. These activities instill the qualities of love, togetherness and harmony among children.

Childrens Day Significance

Parenthood is heavenly. There are many childless couples in this world and if you have a child, you are truly blessed. Childhood symbolizes innocence, angelic smiles, frivolous fights and contentment over little things in life. On this Childrens Day, let us all take a pledge to take care of this godliness, known as a child. Let us be very loving and caring towards the future of our nation. Allow your little one to spread his wings and explore the new horizons on his own. Instill the values of humanity in your children. Take them to an NGO and encourage them to share their belongings with the orphans or the street children, imbibing in them the quality of generosity which sadly we adults, lack!

So get involved with your child on this Childrens day, make him realize that he completes you, that you are with him through thin and thin and that you love him, completely!
