subject: Costa Blanca Holidays Are Great For Climbing In The Winter [print this page]

If you're searching for sun, sea, sand and sangrias in the summer time, the place to be is on a COSTA BLANCA HOLIDAYS. What most people don't know is that the active holidaymaker will find a lot to do there in the off season. People come here from all over the world for winter rock climbing. Once you have been here in the winter months, you will avoid the summer ones like the plague. Winter is when you will not find the hot, sticky, crowded, noisy and expensive environments that seem to be everywhere in the summer time. If you make it in the winter time there is a mild climate, cheap accommodations, cheap flights and also inexpensive car hire.

When you are sitting in your cold dark apartment, think about the sunny skies of the Costa Blanca: you could be here. If you intend to holiday in the winter months you couldn't find better conditions for mountain climbing. Its hard to think of another place in Europe that offers what the Costa Blanca can offer in the way of quality rock climbing. The Costa Blanca not only has a great climate to climb in but it also has a variety of climbing activities on offer. Just imagine sitting on top of a mountain after you have conquered it by scrambling through long multi-pitch climbing routes that over look the sea and coastal mountain ranges.

Whether you are just a beginner or a seasoned climber, you will enjoy the climb up the infamous Penon de Ifach in Calpe. Once you are at the top, the view will be something that will follow you for the rest of your life because it is so fantastic. If you need a more exciting climb then venture a little further inland to the best, which is the Puig Campana that makes the skyscrapers in Benidorm look ever so small. There are literally thousands of rock climbers who will recognize this climb. Don't get the winter blues: get to climbing.

If climbing is not your thing, then for a little exercise take a walking holiday on the Costa Blanca. You could walk the mountain ridges starting with the well known Bernia Ridge and then over to the rather thin edged ridge of El Castellets. You will have a great day out walking along the ridges of the Costa Blanca which will allow you to take in the magnificent scenery. You don't have to be a mountaineer to venture up into these mountains as there are some walking routes that are easy; just be careful of the scree filled gullies. If you are looking for the best place to spend the day then take a look at the Sierra Aitana Mountains located near Benidorm, with excellent trekking and walking paths just waiting for you.

You will be able to see a lot while on your COSTA BLANCA HOLIDAYS whether its for a week or just a few days. Just think in front of you there are rock arches, narrow ridges and prehistoric cave paintings for you to discover. This is the land of the original fridge where they dug holes in the ground and packed them with snow then letting it compact while turning it into ice. Be careful as you don't want to fall in one of these holes; it could ruin your holiday.
