subject: Uk Couple From Kent Needs Your Vote To Win One Of 16 Bahamas Weddings [print this page]

A UK couple from Minster, Kent hoping to win their dream destination in the Bahamas need final votes as the race for the 16 Bahamas weddings enters its last stage. Helen Smith and Kevin Heaton are hoping to make their dream come true by exchanging their vows in the blessed Caribbean nation after entering the Bahamas 16 Islands Wedding Invitation competition, where 16 couples will win their perfect beach wedding at each of the Bahamas lovely collection of 16 islands.

This is Bahamas latest promotional effort to raise awareness about all of its little islands and not just the major popular tourists spots like Grand Bahama and Nassau. By getting couples to compete for destination weddings at each of the Bahamas islands they hope to promote them to the wider tourism market and the ludicrous market of weddings abroad.

The big Bahamian wedding event will see 16 wedding ceremonies being held simultaneously on 16 Bahamian islands on 16th May, 2012.

For the delight of the lucky grooms and brides-to-be the flights, accommodation, meals and even the rings and wedding dress are also included in the wedding packages and successful couples, will also get the chance to take two guests with them to witness their special day.

So far the Helen and Kevin, have a total of 215 votes and among the top couples with most votes they also happent to be the only ones to have registered an interest in getting married on The Berry Islands.

According to Helen, 28, the name of these group of little islands is special to her as she named her three-year-old daughter, from a previous relationship, Berri after developing a craving for strawberries while pregnant with her.

If we win our two witnesses will be our mums. Im hopeful other family members will fly out." - Helen said.

Prepare for any possible outcome she added, Weve already booked Minster Abbey for July 28 next year so we can have a blessing there if we win.

The reason why Helen currently has the most votes in The Berry Islands is that she helped raise awareness of the competition by being one of the 16 brides-to-be chosen to take part in a Bridal Bootcamp run by Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton.

The Beijing Olympic gold medallist, who is also getting married after the London 2012 Games, held the bridal bootcamp session at The City Point Club in London, which took place on Thursday last week .

Before having to race bouquet in hand, the girls had to have their hair and make-up done and tried on bridal gowns for a special photoshoot. They then got hot and sweaty while being all dressed up for a wedding run.

She showed us some exercises on how to flatten your tummy and get rid of your bingo wings. It was good fun. Helen explained.

When the voting time closes one couple will automatically win in the text vote while the remaining 15 couples will be chosen by a panel of judges from a line-up of 60 semi-finalists.

But that's not all, just for voting those submitting their vote for their favourite couple will be automatically entered in a draw to win a seven-night holiday to the Bahamas and 10,000 of Goldsmiths jewellery. If you want to vote for Helen and Kevin or any other of the hundreds of wedding hopefuls you can log into bahamas16weddings.co.uk. Or if seduced by the allure of beach weddings abroad in the Bahamas, why not give it a try, enter the competition and get your friends to vote you?

The lucky 16 wedding winners will be announced in January.
