The Change Factor - Ecommerce In India

India has been exposed to a lot of development in these years and every year a lot of new business ventures become a part of the economy. And E-commerce is one of the successful business ventures that took place in India. India is also known for people with ultimate desire to shop and spend lavishly.

There are tons of factors that have influenced the growth in E-commerce. These factors including high usage of broadband Internet, higher standard of living, busy lifestyles, less time for shopping for offline shopping and the amount of traffic on the roads just makes it impossible. Wide range of product availability is also one of the key factors. The market size of India had increased with time and therefore so has our needs. There is a demand for E-commerce though it isnt as widely used in India than other parts of the world. But India has proved to be hungry for development and hence this has raised the demand for the E-commerce.

India has the biggest market for apparel and electronic shopping. These two categories have the maximum sales. Also in India websites in E-commerce emphasize more on COD (cash on delivery) pattern. Since India is a cash economy and the preferred mode of payment is cash on delivery, which reduces the risk of customer dissatisfaction because of non-delivery, or delivery of defected items.

The world has reached to another end where an individual spends money on something he or she has not touched it or even asked the salesman a hundred questions related to the product. This is the new generation and one can see the world changing for good. The Indian market is growing and for every growing market, a new business venture thrives in such a state. Just the way the bears always follow the honeybees, here the market economy is the honeybee and the business venture is the bear.

A lot of forums are filled with customer complaints about these E-commerce websites that hamper the trust of the customer on the particular company. It has become a great disadvantage to few of the Indian E-commerce websites, out of which flipkart and snapdeal are the main victims. Flipkart customers have been filing a lot of complaints regarding their poor service. Some even complaint about the delayed delivery of the items.

Snapdeal has similar issues but sales of snapdeal have declined drastically since they have more angry customers and customers who trust this website. If a company promises to work at a professional level, the customer expects the same level of service and if not delivered, leads to losing the customers slowly. And snapdeal has played its part in doing so.

There are also few cases when the competitors litter the forums with fake complaints in order to destroy the public image of the main competitor. One must always use the complaint reference number in order to avoid such mishaps. To scare the public competitors also give reasons that the customer has not received the product and the cash has been deducted from their bank account.

Ecommerce has gained a lot of popularity in India and will continue to do so as long as the economy is growing only a little regulation will do the needful!
