Stressful Holidays Don't Need To Be So Bad

The holiday season is always a time when people expect to gain some weight. People, especially women, do not want to gain weight, but with all the delicious food and then with all the stress, there are just so many more reasons to break a diet, rather than make one.

But it does not have to be that way. Every doctor probably has something to say about "reducing your stress," and that is extremely good advice! And during the holiday season, not stressing about your weight while you are running around Nashville would probably help with everything else.

Not saying no to all those lovely relatives and people you do not want to offend when they offer you something tasty but definitely fattening to eat. Or when that carbonated drink comes out that you know is not good for you. Still, there is no reason to say no to these things.

Steps to weight loss do not have to be drastic or time consuming, nor does "diet" need to be a four letter word. Ok, it is a four letter word, but still, it does not need to be taboo.

First thing, when all these yummy foods and drinks are offered to you, as said before, you do not need to say no. In fact, say yes all you want (unless you are allergic to them) and just balance the foods you eat with the water you drink. Drink a minimum of one ounce for each pound you weigh, and one more ounce for each pound you want to lose, and that will reduce your fat retention.

Another thing to balance those foods and bubbly drinks are fresh veggies. Anything green and just cut off the plant is healthy, and will both help fill you up and reduce your weight, thanks to the live enzymes inside.

These things can eliminate the stress of "going on a diet" because you really aren't; you are just changing your diet; and changing a diet is so much easier than eliminating good food entirely. You'll start to lose weight and feel good about yourself too, but not be hungry during this stressful time.

Another quick thing is exercise. Yeah, another dirty word, but surprisingly easy. If you don't have kids, simply taking the time to walk to the store instead of drive will cover some aerobics and weight lifting in the same event, for example. Be creative; make exercise a part of your routine, not a new thing.

So, there you go. Reduce some stress and have a wonderful holiday season!
