subject: Beware Of Cancerous Skin Moles [print this page]

Having skin moles is nothing new. Most of us have moles on various parts of the body. There is no definite quantity of moles per person. Some have as many as fifty plus moles while the others may have just five or six. Most of the moles are harmless and not painful in nature. While moles do not represent any major medical condition, they do raise cosmetic issues with many.

Some moles could however be precancerous in nature and can ultimately result in full-blown cancerous moles. These could only be examined and determined by your physician. The general symptoms of cancerous mole are that they keeps on coming back on the skin.

Malignant or cancerous moles are normally present in people with genetic predisposition and are called as "dysplastic nevi". The cancerous or so-called dangerous moles can be identified by a quick physical examination of the mole. Normally this type of mole is slightly bigger then about five millimeter in diameter, is itchy and often painful, change their color and shape, are of irregular shape and sometimes these moles bleed. If one notices such a condition, he or she will be well advised to consult a skin specialist for detailed examination and treatment.

Non-cancerous moles are not dangerous at all. Except for creating a cosmetic condition, they are harmless. Today, mole removal is quite simple, painless and effective. On one hand, we have clinical methods, which require the mole to be laser burnt or removed by application of chemicals. On the other hand, we also have time-tested home remedies for mole removal.

Home remedies can be done by using items generally found in your kitchen shelf itself to application of herbal or fruit extract. These remedies are less expensive than the clinical methods and do not cause any pain to the person.
