Childhood Panic Attacks And Anxiety – Your Child Needs Your Help

Anxiety attacks children and panic also attacks children. Sometimes as parents, we want to believe that our children are happy and carefree, and we can just put aside the problems that they have such as anxiety, and we try and come up with reasons to explain them away. We want to believe that they will go away, but at times, ignoring them makes them worse.

There are indications that suggest that most adults, who suffer from panic disorders and anxiety, started having the problems in childhood. The problem with a child who does not have treatment is that the panic attacks and anxiety gets worse as the child grows older. That's why it is extremely crucial to face this issue head on, before it becomes severe.

Children, unlike adults, will find it a challenge to put their feelings into words, and so they might act out as a result of the frustration they feel. As parents we need to be aware of our children's actions, and try to find the root cause of such behaviors.

Children who are affected by anxiety and panic may suddenly withdraw from the people closest to them, or refuse to do certain activities. They might also engage in certain troublesome behaviors that may upset the peace in the household, just to try and get some attention.

As parents we need to be aware that our children acting out is a sign of them screaming for help. We need to be loving, caring and understanding as parents, and most importantly we need to encourage our kids to talk about their feelings.

Even though they might not be able to describe properly what they are going through, as parents we should be able to detect if the child is having difficulties.

Watch how your child behaves, and see if there is some type of change in the child. This way, you will be better able to pick up any issues that may seem different to how the child normally behaves, and the sooner you get the child the help he needs, the sooner he can be a happy child, ready to fulfill his destiny.
