Kenya Holidays- A Camp Classic In Kenya

Travellers make their way to Kenya to experience some of the most wondrous and diverse landscapes in the world. To this end, upon arrival, visitors are well advised to take advantage of what the country has to offer by booking a place at a luxury camp where the wildness of the terrain can be experienced alongside a fair degree of relaxation and comfort.

More than catering for such requirements is the luxurious and newly opened Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp located in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, only a two hour drive from the capital Nairobi.

Opened amidst much fanfare in June of last year, the Lake Elementeita Serena Camp is located on a private reserve and as it name suggests, overlooks the small but undeniably impressive Lake Elementeita.

Here, comfort is the primary concern, with luxuriously furnished safari tents each with private bathrooms and terraces providing all the relaxation and comfort that even the most demanding of visitors could desire. Equipped with a wealth of facilities such as a Jacuzzi, lounge, and masseur, the Camp also boasts a growing reputation for the excellence of its food and the quality of wine it has to offer.

Once settled, visitors have a range of exciting activities to choose from including bird watching, safari walks where you can look for leopards and hyenas, and hot air ballooning over the lake which is an experience unlike any other. And although Lake Elementeita itself is off limits as far as swimming is concerned (due to it being part of a natural bird reserve), this is more than made up for by the beauty of the swimming pool at the Camp which conveniently has a bar and easy access to a restaurant so that relaxation and refreshment is always to hand.

Should one lake be insufficient to satisfy the demands of the budding wildlife adventurer, Lakes Naivasha and Nakura are nearby to provide further sources for exploration. The former is home to over 400 different species of bird and many a true hotspot for those interested in seeing a variety of species in their natural habitat. Also diverse on Lake Naivasha is the fish population.

Lake Nakura on the other hand is famous for its millions of flamingos, a veritable sea of pink when viewed from a distance. In addition to flamingos, the Lake has many other bird species on show such as the African fish eagle, the hamerkop, the goliath heron, the pied kingfisher and the verreaux eagle.

Although the Camp is a wildlife reserve situated in the heart of Africa, visitors are only a short step away from great service, great food and great comfort.

The Camp really is an amazing combination of holiday worlds: the raw verisimilitude of the wild on the one hand and the pure comfort and relaxation of home on the other.

Guaranteed to provide a holiday experience that will never be forgotten, Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp is definitely an environment for creating priceless memories that will last a lifetime.
