Maserati Granturismo Sport World Unveiling At 2012 Geneva Auto Show

Maserati launched the GranTurismo Sport, its new two door coupe with increased performance and elegant sporty restyling, at the 2012 International Geneva Auto Show. The new Maserati has been developed to satisfy the Trident"s most demanding clients and has a great personality thanks to its unbeatable style, dynamism, comfort and safety. The GranTurismo Sport is top of its class in performance and look: it features an innovative and functionally designed front bumper, new headlights with DRL Lead Technology, and the rear is characterized by taillights in a more aggressive yet elegant darker tone.

The GranTurismo Sport 4.7 liter V8 engine delivers 460 hp (338 kW) and, with the "sport" button activated, its deep throaty sound can be fully appreciated thanks to the sport exhaust. The transmission and skyhook suspension makes the drive a relaxing yet a rewarding experience and the car reveals its true spirit when the roads become more challenging. The Maserati Stability Program (MSP) has been created to ensure that the new GranTurismo Sport delivers its unmistakable sporting character in any condition.

The new Maserati GranTurismo Sport conveys comfort, luxury and sportiness. The lavish cabin is the result of extensive ergonomic research where everything the driver needs is within easy reach. Every detail is the result of a carefully selection of the finest materials and craftsmanship. The front sport profile seats and their integrated headrests have been redesigned to provide more comfort to the driver and passenger and offer better support, especially under acceleration. A grille finished in all new Ecochrome sits just under the headrests to secure an even sportier look compared to its predecessor, the Maserati GranTurismo. The rear moldings are finished in black leather but client can opt for a finish matching the front seats. Rear seats comfort is further enhanced thanks to an increased leg room and a more comfortable back panel. The seats on the GranTurismo Sport can be finished in the new BluSofisticato stitching.

The newly designed steering wheel has a sportier and muscular look, with Trofeo design gearshift paddles. The steering wheel grip has been enhanced to provide an easier handling, especially during more aggressive drives. The finishes are available in leather, leather and Alcantara and carbon fiber-Alcantara. The pedals are instead decked in MC Sport Line in aluminum. Upon request, the instrumental panel from the GranTurismo MC Stradale can be fitted to ensure that the dials can be easily read in any conditions. The car"s sporty and redefined edges continue with the Ecochrome trim interior whether the Alcantara package is available for those who prefer an even more dynamic look. This includes Alcantara on the instrumental dial covers, central armrest, door panel, handles, the center of the dashboard and the central tunnel.
