Save Loads When You Buy Red Wine Online

In the not too distant past cheap red wine was always available but it's also true that it wasn't very good in many cases. Obviously there are still some bad wines out there but it's pleasantly surprising to find that now there are some great red wines to be had for very little outlay especially if you buy via the web.

Without naming any particular wines as that would be a book in itself I'll concentrate on wine regions and styles of wine producing good quality reds within the 3.50 to 6 price range. I'll also give you a good place to check out a wide range of wines in this range at the end of this post

.

An obvious place to start would be Chile - often found under the new world category, Chilean wines have come on leaps and bounds in recent years with experienced winemakers from key wine making countries like France realizing the potential that this country's varied climate offers. They have brought knowledge and skills to bear that have increased quality and production. Leyda valley is also gaining renown for white wines.

The Maipa Valley region for example produces some superb Merlots with good structure and character. You will also find very good Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere wines from Chile at great prices. In fact so varied is the geography and climate in Chile that most grape varieties can thrive somewhere in the hills or coasts of the country.

France too produces some very good value, good quality wines along with the more esoteric and expensive ones for which it is famed. I've recently sampled a 2005 Claret which was head and shoulders above many more expensive wines from Bordeaux and cost less than 4 online.

No one can have failed to notice the sheer onslaught of wines from Australia over the last couple of decades. Loads of single and mixed varietal wines are coming from OZ and although there may have been a bit of a critical backlash from critics of late, Australian Shiraz in particular remains a dinner party favourite with good examples available in profusion inside our chosen price range.

Further savings are often available when you buy red wine online as the merchants save a lot of costs with their online offerings.

Some other regions producing good reds and whites for bargain bin prices are Hungary, New Zealand and Germany. The US of course also produce a vast quantity of wine and although they have been dominated by consumer tastes in the past at the sacrifice of quality there is a new thinking creeping in which is seeing something of a Rhone attitude develop meaning better wine at lowly prices.

One great place to look at wines within a set price range is at http://www.wineday.co.uk This site promotes the wares of range of top sellers giving you a very broad choice and amongst the many search options to choose from, offers a sliding price range feature. Pay less online!
