Check out the registration documents of the car as sometimes they are duplicate and you may land up in a mess, and check the chassis number and the engine number is mentioned in the registration documents. You must check that the entire road, vehicle taxes are duly paid.
You must also check the insurance documents and if any claims have been made against the said policy. Also check out the transfer procedures and taxes if you wish to get your car registered in some other state.
If the car is financed by a company, ask the owner to get the NOC stating all dues have duly paid.
Check out if there are service centres in your city and if the spare parts are easily available.
