Wonderful Luxury Safari Holidays In Africa

Namibia

There is no country on Earth like Namibia for an African safari. Start from the huge sand dunes and shipwrecks on the Skeleton Coast. Herds of desert elephants walk through the arid landscape in search of an oasis. Watch the dolphins further south in Walvis Bay before you stay in a luxury camp in the Namib Naukluft National Park. Springbok, steenbok, kudu and mountain zebra wander through the arid land. Travel by light aircraft to the Etosha National Park. A vast saltpan full of natural springs dominates this region. Between March and November it is packed with flamingos, pelicans, cheetah, black rhino and antelopes. The heat during the day changes the colour of the landscape from orange to pink, purple and blue. Damaraland, just south of Etosha, is home to 2,000 year old Bushman engravings of animals and humans.

Botswana

Safari holidays in Botswana give you luxury and privacy. Take a plane to The Okavango Delta in the north of the country. This is a real river delta that ends like an oasis in the middle of the desert. You can take a walk over grassland, or glide over the water by canoe and watch the birds fly home at sunset. Watch lions and wild dogs racing across the northern plains where buffalo, giraffe and zebra roam. The Chobe National Park, just east of the Delta, has the world's largest concentration of elephants. The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is a bird watcher's paradise.

South Africa

South Africa has some of the most luxurious safari accommodation on the African continent. Stay in top hotels in Cape Town, in the shadow of Table Mountain and luxury lodges inland. Take the garden route safari from Cape Town through wine country and whales along the coastline to the Drakensberg Mountains in the east. Pass Zulu War battle sites, such as Rorke's Drift, on your way to Kruger and Limpopo National Parks. Private game reserves in the western part of the parks offer sumptuous camps and luxury lodges equivalent to five star hotels. You can roam freely with the aid of a guide and see the Big Five - leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Enjoy top cuisine accompanied by South Africa's best wine under the moonlight in the middle of the bush.

Tanzania

Travel at your own pace with your own guide through Tanzania on your African safari. You can linger as long as you wish at any site before returning to a luxury camp. Start from Mount Kilimanjaro moving to the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park. Explore the world's biggest wildlife habitat with a private guide and mobile camp and watch how the great migration progresses. Safaris over southern Tanzania in the Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park are best arranged by private plane. You can watch crocodile and hippopotami and, with luck, see a leopard.

Luxury safaris in Africa will make your holiday into an unforgettable and magical experience. It won't be long before you return.
