Potential Safety Hazards Would Be Hidden In Kids Toys

As is known to all, the major consumer groups of toys are children, almost 70 percent of toys all over the world are kids toys. In parents viewpoint, from toys playing process, their childrens ability and intelligence can be developed fully, especially playing with education toys such as building blocks, puzzle and so on. However, one fact which should not be ignored is that playing with inappropriate toys or playing toys with wrong ways is easy to result in harm on both physical and mental aspects. Poor quality kids toys would endanger their health and personal safety. It was reported that in the United States about 13,000 children under the age of 14 were taken to hospital because of the unintentional injuries during toys playing process every year. Among them, half of them are little kids under five years old. In addition to U.S., such serious events also have occurred in other countries so that more and more people pay more attention on the toys quality.

Toys quality problems are reflected in several aspects. Firstly, the design of kids toys is not unreasonable and the toys manufacturing process is not qualified, both of which would result in all aspects of security risks. For example, the sharp edges and corners on toys small size accessories would injure childrens skin, plastic eyes or nose on stuffed animals would be pulled off by children and swallowed incautiously if the tensile force is not qualified. If the stuffing materials in cloth toys are not disinfected, it is not safe for children to play. Whats worse, if some sharp metal materials are contained in them, it is easy to injure childrens fingers. If the string on kids toys is too long, it is easy to result in asphyxia if children twine it on neck incautiously. In addition, some harmful metal elements such as lead, chromium, antimony, arsenic, barium, copper and mercury contained in toys raw materials or toys surface would give kids the risk if the content of them exceeds standard. Take the lead for example, if its content is more than 2500 milligram per kilogram, it will bring great potential harm to children. Studies have shown that children, especially young children, are more susceptible to lead risk.

With the development of society and technology, there are more and more kids toys with more functions in market and it is more complicated to play with them, therefore parents should be more careful in toys playing to avoid serious accidents.
