Bed Bug Sniffing Dogs Are Everywhere

Putting dogs to work is nothing new. Their strong backs have lead dog sledding expeditions in the arctic. Their keen eye sight and understanding of places have had them guiding the blind around for decades. Their sense of smell has had them assist in the apprehension of everyone from drug dealers to terrorists, keeping us all safe for many years. Of course that someone had the ingenuity to employ bold pups and their fantastic noses in sniffing out and positively identifying bed bug infestations is still quite impressive when it all comes down to it.

For a long time bed bug inspection was simply not a priority in most towns and cities in first world countries. The problem it seemed had been all but taken care of. Over the last few years though bed bug infestation after bed bug infestation have popped up and chances are wherever you live there has been a sharp increase in bed bug detection. As a result finding an effective way to identify long dormant bed bugs in a home has become a growth industry and bed bug sniffing dogs have proven themselves to be the best option for picking out an infestation and properly identifying it as bed bugs.

Acknowledging the fantastic sense of smell dogs have is of course nothing terribly original but training them how to identify bed bugs and develop methods for how they can express that this is clearly a bed bug infestation is another thing entirely. Developing an expertise in both dog training and bed bug identification seem to be convergent interests and yet once you have mastered these pursuits monetizing them can be incredibly easy in this day and age. With a rash of bed bug infestations every day there is an increasing reason for these sorts of services to pop up in any and all major cities.

Luckily managing bed bugs has become increasingly easy in recent years. Exterminators can get rid of them quickly and for good, at least in most cases. Cleaning services can even take care of your laundry assuring you critter free clothing and putting an end to the fallacy that a bed bug problem means all of your clothes need to be tossed into the garbage. In fact things have advanced so far that you can seal your mattress in a bed bug suffocating bag and after a few days use it once again. In spite of all this technology our first line of defense remains man's best friend.
