A disease which is growing globally at fast pace is cancer. According to research about 12.7 million cases of cancer and 7.6 million deaths occurred in 2008 world wide due to cancer with 50 percent of the cases and 64 percent of the deaths in economically developing world. According to studies it has been projected that by 2030 there will be 26 million new cancer cases and 17 million cancer deaths per year worldwide.

It has been found that cancer accounts for over twenty percent of the total disease burden, with increasing ageing population. On the other hand burden caused due to cancer will also increase. According to research only five percent to ten percent of cases of cancer are due to genetic or hereditary disease, and rest happen due to environmental and occupational factors, and those related to human behavior.

There are number of factor which causing increased rate of cancer cases as consumption of tobacco, life style, infectious diseases. Therefore these factors pose specific threat to low and middle resource countries. Therefore prevention is must for reducing the risk of cancer such as avoiding tobacco, limiting alcohol consumption, getting regular exercise or workout and eating a plant based diet.

It has been found that infection plays an important role in the development of certain cancers. According to studies fifteen percent of cancer happen due to infections.

Obesity is another problem that can cause cancer. According to studies an excess body weight usually increase the risk of certain cancers. Carrying extra weight has been linked to rising trend of breast cancer and endometrial cancer in women. And colon and kidney cancer to men, according to studies obesity also increases the risk of liver cancer, gall bladder cancer and blood cancer. According to studies by losing weight risk of cancer such as post-menopausal cancer can be reduced.

According to studies by reducing physical activities can increase the risk of breast and colon cancer. Therefore it has been found that regular physical activity can lower the risk of colon cancer by about fifteen percent to twenty percent. On the other hand .......Read More
