A Visit To Your Auto Center Is Good Vehicle Maintenance!

Vehicle owners are being reminded about the importance of fuel economy as fuel prices are again soaring into outer space this summer. Because of the continued increase, many consumers have downsized into smaller and more fuel-efficient cars. It seems most vehicle owners are more willing to trade their older vehicles in on new cars, rather than taking their older car to an auto shop for any necessary repairs.

Did you know that following a schedule of preventative maintenance performed by qualified mechanics at an auto center can actually save you money? It is the equivalent to a long-term investment, minimizing the number of your visits to an auto shop for more extensive and costly repairs.

A study administered and published by Kelton Research revealed that nine-in-ten American car owners believe they do everything they should to properly maintain their vehicle. But the research shows that, in reality, only 41 percent of these owners actually follow their manufacturers scheduled service recommendations and take their vehicles to an auto shop for these services. Only 28 percent of owners service their vehicles at dealerships, and just 23 percent make sure to use only authentic manufacturer parts. Not surprisingly, the study also reports that less than one in four (23 percent) are willing to work with a qualified mechanic at an auto center to develop a maintenance plan for their cars.

According to current studies, visiting an auto shop for needed regular scheduled maintenance is not a popular activity among the majority of vehicle owners. This is true even though it has been proven that it is much less expensive to maintain regular vehicle maintenance schedules on your used vehicle than to purchase a new vehicle--especially if it is necessary to finance the purchase price.
