subject: Purchasing A Quality Polar Heart Rate Monitor Battery [print this page]

Having the competitive edge over everyone when it comes to physical training and performance is a great feeling. And it's not an impossible thing to achieve because it all comes down choosing an effective training method to get you there. This can be achieved by using a Polar heart rate monitor.

Cardiorespiratory endurance and strength can be monitored effectively by using such fitness devices. They come with many new built-in features that can be quite handy; For instance, there's a feature that assists people in determining a tempo or pacing of their workout sessions.

Each unit comes packed with three-volt batteries but when they're used up, you'll obviously need to replace the old batteries with new ones. These can be purchased from Polar themselves (via their website) or other sites like Amazon.

Purchasing the product from an online retailer is highly recommended as it makes life easier and you have access to much more information. It can be delivered straight to your home after purchasing it online and there's no hassle of having to find the product at a physical retailer.

Look for authentic batteries, which are compatible with virtually all Polar heart rate monitor models. When looking around for authentic ones, be sure to find ones with a cover and a seal ring.

To ensure that you get the best performance and experience out of your device, we strongly encourage you to get authentic or genuine batteries only. The non genuine ones will likely decrease the heart rate monitor's performance. This is something you want to avoid because this will only affect your workout.

Cheaper low quality batteries can actually damage the your device in the long run. They also tend to not last as long as genuine batteries, which could end up costing you more having to constantly purchase more.

When replacing old batteries with new ones, you must firstly take the receiver out of the bigger case. Next, flip the main unit over and you should be able to see a strap that is protecting another smaller unit.

Take out the smaller unit from the case with a good pull on the strap that's protecting it. Now, you should be able to see the battery hatch that protects the batteries. There is a tab on this which opens the internal lock when pressed.

Pressing the tab will require a thin rounded metal or plastic tool. When the lock is opened, remove the internal battery as well.

Remember that the tool can cause damage to the plastic so it's best not to rush this. When the old batteries have been removed, replace them with the new genuine batteries.

Click the battery in by pressing on it. Now, insert the receiver back into the casing that holds it which should fit in perfectly.

At this stage, the Polar heart rate monitor should be functional again. The screen should display a full battery indicator at this point.
