Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening are the long lasting solution of the yellow and stained teeth. People who wish to have a fascinating smile and have discolored teeth may rejuvenate their smiles within 30 minutes. There is a myth amongst the people that whitening of teeth destroy and removes the enamel layer of the teeth but the fact is that teeth whitening is an oxidation process. The free oxygen attaches the stain causing them to disappear. Neither does it erode the enamel nor has any side-effects.

With the increase in age of a person, the color of the teeth fades due to the change in the mineral structure of the tooth. Teeth are also stained due to bacterial pigments, smoking, consumption of alcohol and the food goods that leave a stain on the teeth. It is also caused due to certain medications.

Dental whitening is not meant for only those who have stained teeth; sometimes people also get their teeth bleached to have a brighter smile. It is the most common procedure of cosmetic dentistry. The practice involves wearing a thin and flexible tray for few minutes to get shiny white teeth. People generally show their interest in teeth whitening in order to boost up their confidence while going for the interviews and personal events.

Bleaching the teeth do not require rushing to the doctor every time as you may whiten your teeth by using home made products too. The natural tooth whitening methods involve applying malic acid, pulp of crushed strawberries and brushing teeth with baking soda. Lemons are also regarded as good whitening agents. Also, there are many teeth whitening products available in the market that are approved by the dentist and FDA (Food and Drug Administration). While these bleaching agents have certain side-effects too, they should be applied under the doctors consultation. The ill effects may lead to chemical burns, pain due to sensitivity and increased risk of tongue cancer.

The yellow teeth respond well to teeth whitening as compared to brown colored teeth. It is the wastage of money if the person has tooth-colored filling placed on any tooth. Hence, teeth whitening should be done only after taking an expert opinion. The dentists usually apply bleaching solutions containing peroxide to bleach the tooth enamel thus changing its color and bestowing a charming smile. The peroxide varies in concentration from 10 to 44%. These solutions are applied directly to the teeth entrenched in a plastic strip by a mouth guard.

The internal tooth bleaching involves drilling a hole to pulp chamber followed by cleaning, sealing and filling the root canal with a rubber-like substance. A peroxide gel is also placed into the chamber to directly act on the dentin layer. This peroxide is replaced over a period of time as and when needed. The teeth whitening lasts for very few days but can be executed again using the bleaching toothpastes.

The doctors in Delhi use instant teeth whitening techniques at a very cheap and affordable price. The quality material used by the dentist lasts for a long time.
