How To Get Started Making Money Online With Minimal Upfront Costs

In this tough economic climate, many people don't have thousands of dollars to invest in their online business, right out of the gate. In fact the reason many people get started in internet marketing is because they want to make some money to improve their lifestyle. If you've already got tens of thousands of dollars waiting to be spent, this article won't be showing you how to spend it. What I am going to outline in this article is how you can start your own online business for a few hundred dollars or even less.

What You Will Need

There are some things you can't really do without if you want a successful online business that makes cash consistently for you.

1) Firstly, you are going to need a plan. Don't even think about doing this the trial-and-error way because you either won't succeed or you will waste precious time and resources making mistakes until you finally figure out what works and what doesn't.

2) Secondly, you are going to need a website that you will drive traffic to. Now this website can be something as simple as a lead capture page that offers your visitor something of value in your niche market. In order to host a website, you are going to need web-hosting too, which is relatively inexpensive and paid hosting starts at around $10 per month.

3) You need to sell a product. This product can be your own or it can be someone else's that you are an affiliate for. Either way, in order to make money online, you need to sell something and your customers need to take an action and buy. You do this by genuinely helping people by offering solutions aligned with their needs.

4) You need an autoresponder service. Don't try to collect names and emails yourself, do it the right way and sign up with a good quality autoresponder service that knows how to get your emails delivered to your subscribers. Some people don't like to pay out for an autoresponder service, but in my view that's at best an oversight and at worst a fundamental error in both their thinking and approach towards running a successful online business.

5) You need traffic. In other words, you need eyeballs on your website that are interested in what you have to offer and they need to perform an action which ultimately converts to a sale, either immediately or at a later date.

The Shoestring Method

The good news here is that many of these services are ultra-competitive so they entice new customers with either highly discounted prices in the first 30 days or even free in some cases for that period of time. Obviously after that you will need to pay the monthly costs associated with that service, so check carefully before committing to anything. If you really get to work during that first 30 days, you can start making money online and decide which of these services you would like to remain with. It goes without saying that some of them are so fundamental to your online business, that you will need to factor in the costs on an ongoing basis, but that outlay is a drop in the ocean versus returns if you do things correctly and consistently build your online business.
