Top Three Tips On Spying On Your Kids Online Activities

According the survey, around 34 percent of the child participants admitted that they lied to their parents about their online activities at one time or another. More interestingly, only 18 percent of their parents knew that they were being lied to.

Lets come to the point.

There is nothing wrong with spying on your kids online activities as long as the intention is to ensure their safety. Spying actually helps you keep track of potential dangers and intervene at the earliest possible. Here are some useful tips on how you can keep tabs on your childrens online behaviour.

How to Spy on Your Kids Online Activities

McAfee, an online-security tech company, recently conducted the Teen Internet Behavior study to find out how kids usually hide their online activities. According to the survey, around 70 percent of the respondents admitted that they use different tricks to keep their online activities a secret from their parents. Some of these activities included clearing browsing history, deleting messages and images, using the private viewing mode and so on. It is important for parents to be smarter than their kids to be able to catch what they are hiding. Here are three tips that can help you track your childs online activities to ensure that they do not fall prey to online predators:

1. Get their passwords. Make sure that you know the user name and password of your kids of Facebook and Gmail accounts. When asking them to share he password, you should explain why you need it. Dont try to force them because that may be counter effective.

2. Know their friends. It is also important for you to know about their online friends. Visit their social networking accounts on a regular basis to check recent updates and newly added friends. Most of these social networking sites have fake account holders who hide their real name, age, and identification with wrong intentions. You want to ensure that your kids are not falling prey to such predators.

3. Use monitoring software. Despite all your efforts to spy on your kids, you may miss out some important information. A good way to ensure that you know everything about your kids online activities is to utilize monitoring software. You can set this software on stealth mode on your childs computer or mobile phone. This will help you get a clear picture without letting them know that you are spying on them.

However, before choosing monitoring software to spy on your kids, be sure to compare them online. After all, you are doing this to ensure safety for your family. You dont want to ruin things by buying your software from the wrong dealer!
