The Responsible Tourism Awards in Kenya and Tanzania recognize safari Companies, Tour Operators, Travel Agents that bring economic benefits to local communities and help preserve natural and cultural heritage
Next week is the final chance for travelers to offer their nominations for this year's Responsible Tourism Awards, sponsored by Kenya Airways and organised by Eco Tourism Society of Kenya.
We are asking travelers to nominate a safari company, project, tented camp, lodge individual for an award in any of 13 categories.
As an added incentive, every traveler who offers a proposal could win a fantastic ten -day safari vacation in Kenya for two - courtesy of African Safaris And Adventures.
The categories
Best tour operator for cultural engagement (Sponsored by Tourism Western Australia)
Best large hotel/accommodation (Sopa Lodges Kenya Tanzania)
Best small hotel/accommodation (Sweetwaters Tented Camp)
Best in a mountain environment (Mountain Lodge Nanyuki)
Best in a marine environment (Mombassa Serena Beach Hotel)
Best cruise or ferry operator( Mombasa Ferry)
Best for conservation of wildlife and habitats (Porini Camp Masai Mara)
Best volunteering organisation (Kenya Tourist Board)
Best travel destination (Amboseli)
How to enter
Submit nominations by June 20, 2010 at www.africansafaris.co.ke or by sending a letter or postcard (make sure to include your name, address and telephone number) to African safaris and Adventures P.O.Box 100050 Nairobi Kenya. The winning entry will be drawn after the award winners have been announced. The winning holiday must be taken between July 2010 and December 2011 Full competition terms and conditions apply.
