Another good option to travel from Trichy to Chennai is to board a train, that takes about 6 hours to reach Chennai and is a very convenient option. From the Chennai railway station, one can either take a bus, an auto or a cab even to reach ones hotel.

Yet another alternative is to take a direct flight from Trichy to Chennai. The flight is just an hour long and is ideal for those who do not want to waste any time travelling from the Trichy to Chennai. Hiring a cab can take you from anywhere in the city to the airport and is a reliable mode of transportation.
