A tourist while travelling to any country should be well informed about the place. Different countries have different rules and regulations that are followed by the locals and they want the tourists to follow the rules as well. To start with, the Indians follow many rules and regulations. Visiting India is always fun as it is a nation which is considered as one of the best tourist destination. While travelling to this versatile yet conservative land, the tourist needs to be very careful as the more humble these people are the stricter they are with the rules.

Starting with the harmful things, like smoking. Smoking and drinking is prohibited in public. The authorities are very strict about the rules and a fine is also imposed on breaking any rule. If a person is caught consuming alcohol in open or smoking in public places, it is considered offensive and one has to pay the fine. Driving while one is drunk is also not justified as most of the accident cases include drunk drivers. To avoid such accidents, the authorities have imposed heavy fines on any law breaking.

In India, wearing proper attire is a must. While visiting a religious place like a temple, church, gurudwara or mosque, one should wear covered clothes and covered head. These are not laws but are certain basic beliefs and rules that the Indians follow and wants everyone to follow. It is a rule that no one should click any picture of the deity and the idol as they are not a thing of show. So, the Indians believe that there should not be such modern things within the religious premises.

One should use the luggage security system to ensure security of ones luggage. A tourist should take good care of belongings as if things are replaced or robbed, it is very difficult to get it back and the process takes a lot of time. In this conserved nation, public display of affection is not that appreciable. The terms and conditions of India are different from those followed in other parts of the world. Breaking the rules here is punishable. While using the public transports here, one should be careful about the laws followed during traveling. No drinking and smoking is allowed in any of the public conveyances.
