The Truth About Bulldog Puppy Training

The very first few months of a puppy's life has a great influence on how it will be in the future. Nonetheless, bulldog puppy training is an ongoing process that stretches out to its entire lifetime. The important fact is that it is at a bulldog's tender age that it is able to absorb and grasp certain behaviors, both good and bad. In either event, it is up to the owner to decide which kind of behavior the bulldog will adopt.

A very good method to instill obedience in a dog is by use of positive reinforcement. Every time the dog does the right thing, the owner should take up the task of offering a reward. With time, the dog associates certain behaviors or deeds with rewards. That being the case, dogs should be discouraged form acting in an unpleasant manner.

There is no better way to carry out positive reinforcement than to use snacks. The owner should however be very careful not to overfeed the dog as bulldogs are known to have a very huge appetite. They love feeding and gain weight fast. As the dog gets older there is no need to use a snack, the routine will be in mind and the dog will have gotten used to say a certain command.
