10. Alexandria/Washington D.C.- Bring your dog to visit the capitols many sites. Take a walk in Old Town or a doggie cruise on the Potomac. For lunch, dine at one of the citys many pet-friendly restaurants.

9. New York, NY-Although New York has limited urination stations, it boasts 130-plus dog parks. Pet Day Care is available in nearly every neighborhood for hardworking pet moms and dads. Visitors are welcome stay with their dogs in many of New Yorks luxury hotels. Central Park is beautiful for a leisurely stroll. And New York is especially tough on licensing and inspection laws to prevent puppy mills. While thats great it needs to employ stricter dog fighting laws.

8. Portland, OR-This city has 32-dog parks, as well as the Rose Garden bring your pup for a meet and greet. The Saturday Outdoor Market is a fun way to shop with your four-footed-friend. For pet-friendly dining, the Luck Labrador Restaurant Chain has a home here.

7. Charlotte, NC-Here dogs take center stage at the annual Pet Palooza has a 5K walk, Fido Fashion Show, and agility demonstrations. The Ties and Tails Gala is another annual fundraising event. Dont miss the dog-friendly Canine Caf and the Dog Bar. Charlotte also has five dog parks and three major pet stores.

6.Seattle, WA- Go anywhere with your leashed dog simply by taking public transportation. The city hosts many dog friendly venues, an annual Pup-O-Ween Halloween celebration for dogs. With 40-dog parks in the city, every day is a dogs day at one of the parks.

5. Chicago, IL- Take a Canine Cruise boat tour from the Navy Pier. The city also hosts many dog-friendly resorts, parks, and patio restaurants.

For play, there are many beaches, parks, trails, and world-class shopping centers to visit with your canine companion.
