The best way to travel from Mumbai to Nagpur is by train. Several trains from Mumbai that travel further down to the southern cities have to pass through Nagpur. Among the daily superfast and express trains running from Mumbai to Nagpur are Shalimar-Lokmanya Tilak Express (No.18029), Howrah-Mumbai CST Gitanjali Express (No.12859), Gondia-Mumbai Vidarbha Express (No.12105), Nagpur-Mumbai CST Duronto Express (No.12289) and Nagpur-Mumbai Sewagram Express (No.12139). The train takes about 14 hours to reach from Mumbai to Nagpur.

Regular bus services are available from Mumbai to Nagpur. The buses charge a fare ranging anything from Rs.800 to Rs.1500. These buses come under different categories like ordinary, AC multi-axle, AC and non-AC sleeper, semi sleeper with push-back seats, and 2 X 2 coaches. One can book these buses on various net portals. The most convenient is to book an overnight sleeper bus.

The taxi services are also available from Mumbai to Nagpur. The taxi cabs charge a fare ranging from Rs.15 to Rs. 30 per kilometre depending on the type of vehicle the travellers prefer to hire. Travel by roadways takes more than 15 hours to cover the distance.
