How Article Writing Gets You Free Advertising

Article writing offers free advertising. You don't have to take my word for it because the vast majority of people that use article marketing as an advertising tool will concur. Here's why.

First, you must write an article of at least 500 words on the topic of your niche that you want to stress. Then you should submit it to as many article directories as you can. Each directory permits you to include what is referred to as an 'Author's Resource': a section at the end of the article where you say a bit about yourself, your website or your service (or all three), and include a URL to any web page of your choice. In fact, most allow at least two: free advertising doubled in effect!

To be effective your article writing has to look professional, and at least:

a) Your title must attract the readers, and must persuade them to continue to read. b) Your article has to be well written and demonstrate a good knowledge of your subject. c) You must use your 'Author's Resource' to compel readers to click on your link for more information from you. d) The web page you send them to must be relevant to your article.

What does this achieve?

1. Those using article directories for information (and many do)will read your article, and if it is written well enough, will be liable to click on your link and get to your page. That has to be regarded as free advertising, since you are paying nothing.

2. Webmasters seeking content for their websites will copy your articles to their sites. Your Resource must also be retained intact. Hence, you get free advertising on someone else's website for your keyword. Not only that, but also that website will be highly likely to be connected with your niche, and therefore your product.

3. You will get links back to your web page from every directory that accepts your article, and also every website that uses it. That will improve the Google PageRank figure for your web page, and also your search engine listings.

4. You article can be listed on Google, because each directory publishes your articles on its own webpage. It can therefore be listed just the same as any other webpage. That depends on how well you have optimized it for the search engines, which is one of the most important aspects of article writing.

There are many steps that can be taken to maximize your article listing, although these are beyond the scope of this article and cover concepts such as Latent Semantic Analysis.

However, employ these, and you have a fabulous opportunity to achieve page #1 listings on Google for your chosen keywords. Page #1 without any need for a new web page - in fact without any need for any website. Free advertising can be generated from article writing for any form of business, online or offline.
