Trains from Nagpur Junction (NGP) railway station arrive in Pune at Pune Junction (PUNE) railway station, and take a travel time of about 15 hours. There are a number of express and superfast express trains from Nagpur to Pune. Maharashtra Express (11040) and Azad Hind SF Express (12130) are the two daily trains from Nagpur to Pune. Fare in a sleeper class in Maharashtra Express is Rs. 313 and Azad Hind SF Express is Rs. 333.

Nagpur Junction and Pune Junction railway stations are located within the city. Both these stations have well maintained waiting and retiring rooms, tourist information centres, and restaurants offering both vegetarian and non vegetarian cuisines.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport is located 8 km South West of Nagpur City. There are several flights from Nagpur to Pune provided by airliners such as Indigo, Air India, Jet Konnect and Jet Airways. Indigo operates direct flights from Nagpur to Pune, which take only 1 hour to reach. The flights from Nagpur to Pune provided by these airliners are very well maintained, and the air tickets are reasonable and economic. Pune Airport is located approximately 10 km from the city centre. The airport has a facility of prepaid taxis and air-conditioned buses that connect it to different parts of the city.
