subject: Webinar On cleaning And Sanitation Training For Food Processors From Globalcompliancepanel [print this page] Description: Description:
This webinar is about sanitization in the food industry.
Sanitization is the most important factor in the food industry. Surprisingly, even as we claim to have overcome the contamination issues that bogged the industry down about a century ago; the issue seems to have come to haunt American society with added vigor. The reason for this seems to be that American society has become more vulnerable to food contamination.
Recently, there have been cases in which the FDA citedfood manufacturing companies for numerous sanitation violations such asfailure to properly clean equipment and prevention of subsequent salmonella contamination of product. Poor sanitation can also result in allergen cross contamination.
In order to prevent such instances from happening across the board in the industry; what needs to be done is forsanitation personnel to locate "dead ends" in product flow and difficult to clean areas. Understanding what types of cleaning chemicals remove the various types of soils unique to each industry is also critical for an effective sanitation program. If one were to plug holes at every level by bringing in very basic sanitation concepts and practices, a huge difference can be made.
This webinar will cover several topics of value to food manufacturing sanitation professionals. It will begin with a conceptual understanding of cleaning vs. sanitation. It will then review proper cleaning techniques to ensure microbial and allergen residue removal. Attendees will learn about the chemicals used in industrial cleaning and sanitation and how to protect themselves against harmful exposure and accidents.
Areas covered in this session:
o Cleaning and Sanitation practices specific to various areas of the manufacturing environment and the resultant risks
o Types of soils and cleaning chemicals based on the properties of each
o Results of exposure to hazardous chemicals, how to read labels and maintain chemical safety
