The Naked Heart Foundation: Bringing Joy To All Children

Alex von Furstenberg financially supports over 60 charities worldwide, each with a different approach to make the world a better place. One of the organizations that has always actively supported, is the Naked Heart Foundation - Heart Nude or, in Spanish - a philanthropic organization focused on children.

Games are considered by psychologists as behavior endemic to the human species. Jean Piaget and Sigmund Freud have noted the importance of play in interpersonal development of children as well as their critical skills and concentration, all of which are critical aspects needed to survive the life that awaits them in adulthood.

Unfortunately, not all children have a place to play and express themselves. This can result in deep psychological traumas and consequences that prevent their full development, and it is very worrying for the Naked Heart Foundation and Alex von Furstenberg, one of its sponsors.

Naked Heart was founded by Russian model and actress, Natalia Vodianova, after visiting his hometown in Russia along with his son in 2004. During this visit, we noted the deplorable state and the complete lack of playgrounds, what determined the sedentary lifestyle of children of that community.

This gave rise to this foundation which, since 2005, has built more than 30 playgrounds, giving children the opportunity to exercise and the right to play and enjoy life in a place where there are concerns or restrictions.

The first park was completed in 2006, five minutes from where Natalia grew up in the community of Nizhny Novgorod. For 2009, 40 parks have been built in 30 cities of Russia, Natalia fulfilling the dream of giving children their own park to play, express and develop.

The ultimate goal of the foundation is the construction of 500 parks in Russia. A goal not met yet, but thanks to the work and commitment of its founder, and the generous contributions and continued support and concern of sponsors like von Furstenberg, who spent more than seven years helping to realize a dream that today makes little hundreds of children happy, and that, in 2011, resulted in the formation of the program Every Child Deserves a Home (Every Child Deserves a Home), designed to create spaces and tools for children to remain in their families, rather than be placed in orphanages, and thus grow in an atmosphere of love and concern for them and their development.
