At home a baby does not need to be dressed up all fancy and it needs to be comfortable. Babies grow up so fast that they rarely have time to wear out their clothes and it is not until they start to crawl and walk about that their clothes will need to be sturdy. Until then there is no point in buying expensive outfits since they will be outgrown in almost no time and then you will just have wasted good money. It is a matter of personal choice, but I would rather spend the money on buying other things for the baby, such as a good pushchair, bath and highchair. Needless to say, that when it comes to the car seat, you really do need to get the best that you can afford.
When my children were small there were quite a few good discount baby stores in the neighbourhood and it was possible to buy many things of very good quality at a fraction of the price which the larger stores were charging. These days it is still possible to find discount kids clothes on the high street but you need to look a little bit harder. This is because the advent of online shopping has put some stores out of business.
Discount refers to a reduction in the basic price of goods or service and for most people this is a welcome sign in a shop. We all have to stretch out money a lot further than before since the cost of living just keeps on climbing and the demands on our money keep on rising. This is why it is good to try and save money wherever we can and we need to realise that there is no shame in admitting that we cannot all afford expensive things all the time and that buying discount baby clothes are actually a wise decision.
