Hyderabad is a popular tourist destination in South India famous for its unique culture, art and architecture.

Hyderabad is located at a distance of 628 km via NH 5, 640 km via NH 5 and Nagarjuna Sagar Road, and 686 km via NH 5, from Chennai. Hyderabad is well connected to Chennai by road, rail and air.

From Chennai to Hyderabad, the travel time on road without a break is about 11 hours. Many private operators run Volvo, deluxe and semi deluxe buses from Chennai to Hyderabad daily on a regular basis. By bus, it takes around 11 to 14 hours to complete the journey. The ticket fare can be anywhere between Rs.550 and Rs.1300 depending on the bus type. Alternatively, one can hire a Taxi from Chennai, and for an economy type Indica car it will cost around Rs. 12,000 (for a round trip). Trains from Chennai Egmore (MS) railway station and Chennai Central (MAS) railway station arrive in Hyderabad at Kacheguda (KCG) and Secunderabad Junction (SC) railway stations, and take a travel time of about 14 hours. Both these railway stations are connected to almost all parts of Hyderabad city by the MMTS Rail Transit and Hyderabad Road Transport's buses. Chennai - Hyderabad Express (12603), Chennai Egmore Kacheguda Express (17651) and Charminar Express (12759) are the daily trains from Chennai to Hyderabad.

Chennai International Airport is situated on the Grand Southern Trunk Road (NH45) and is also served by Tirusulam railway station on the Suburban railway network. Airport prepaid taxis are available round the clock, with reasonable fares. There are several flights from Chennai to Hyderabad by airliners such as Indigo, Spicejet, Air India and JetKonnect. It takes only 1 hour 40 minutes to reach Hyderabad from Chennai by a direct flight. Hyderabad International Airport is about 22 km south of Hyderabad city centre.
