Five Ways To Promote Learning In Your Child's Bedroom

As a parent, you should promote learning to your child. Since he is at an early age, it is not recommended to force him to learn. The keyword here is encouragement. Your child should be encouraged to learn in subtle and fun ways. For one, you must identify which place is more conducive to learning. Definitely, not the living room, where most of the family members and visitors are present. Not the entertainment room either, because of the existence of television. The most strategic place to promote learning to your child is his bedroom. Why? This is where he stays. This is his territory. You can do anything to his room just so you can effectively promote learning. But how is this possible?

Attach colorful and big numbers in the bedroom walls

Children always say 'what is this' while pointing their fingers to each of the things that brought them curiosity. Take advantage of this behavior; it would be easy for you to introduce numbers to your child by attaching colorful and big numbers in the bedroom walls. Once done, he will start asking you what are these things you placed in the walls. And, because he sees them every day, he gets familiar with them that before you know it, he can already identify each number.

Put a poster of the letters of the alphabet in one of the walls in his bedroom

Buy the biggest and most creative poster of the letters of the alphabet in one of the stores nearby. Place it in one of his bedroom walls. Again, your child's curiosity will lead him to the poster and he will again start asking you about these letters. To your surprise, day by day, he will be familiarized with one or two letters until he can already identify all.

Place a computer inside his bedroom

Do not be mistaken about computer. Computer is not all about video gaming. It is, more importantly, used for learning. You just have to teach your child how to use it and when to use it. Start by introducing interesting facts written in web sites. Choose the facts that will capture the interests of your child, such as animals and plants. You read facts as if you are reading him a story. This way, you are not only promoting learning, but also reading.

Make a collection of books inside his room

Buy him books that will encourage him to reading. Make sure that these books are suitable and interesting for kids (meaning, they are written in big letters and are visually presentable).

Make a daily record of what he learned for the day

Each night before he sleeps, have a 'recap' of what he learned during the day. Write them in a paper, which should be clipped it in the wall. Make it visible to his eyes. This will give him a sense of achievement; thus, encouraging him to strive for more.

Learning is a continuing process; but parents should realize that it starts not at school, but in his bedroom. Consider this list and you will achieve your goal of promoting learning to your child.
