Best Utility Clubs Ping G15 Hybrid Review

The Ping G15 Hybrid looks much like a driving iron, but with a shortened, curving black head. The head design is very much a departure from its previous-generation, fairway wood-inspired G10 counterpart. The thickness of the face is immediately visible, as a couple of millimeters of grey steel face extend at the crown of these golf clubs.

The G15 Hybrid represents the biggest change from the G10 range with a unique new iron/hybrid design ensuring that this is a club which launches the ball high while keeping the spin rate low. The unique shape of the stainless steel hybrid features an iron-style face and hosel design which positions the center of gravity closer to the face to increase launch angle and reduce spin. The clean look at address inspires confidence for golfers of all abilities.

With an Iron style design the Ping G15 Hybrid has the look of an iron with the forgiveness of a traditional hybrid. With its high MOI the G15 hybrid is very accurate and forgiving. The compact shape of the G15 hybrid 17-4 stainless steel head is much shorter in length (from face to back) than most other fairway wood-inspired hybrids. Instead, think of this hybrid as being more like a driving iron, similar to the hybrids made popular by Adams.

The Ping G15 Hybrid is the most dramatic change in the latest G series. Its substantial offset and large toe produce impressive forgiveness, while the iron-like styling means the head doesn't look overly chunky. This produces one of the most penetrating flights of all hybrid golf clubs on offer.
