As this city is known for its rugged mountainous terrain and tough cowboys, no one would imagine that Phoenix is home for many great churches too.It is even one of the largest cities in United States. As compared to Vegas, Phoenix doesn't have a single casino. This could be the reason for a large number of people consciously being more religious as compared to other cities.
In the heart of Phoenix is the "Trinity Cathedral" which is a stone structure of sprawling proportions and one look at it takes you back to the days when the marauding Spanish established colonies and the inevitable Churches. This church is located at 100 W. Roosevelt Street. Can you believe that the first structure to come up in a Spanish colony was always a church?
The "Roman Catholic Diocese" publishes a newspaper of its own called the "Catholic Sun". Though it emphasis on the Christian activities, it also covers important national and international news. The diocese even manages the Catholic cemetery and mortuaries there.
"Pilgrim Rest Baptist church" is located at 1401 East Jefferson Street and has the same number of services for children as well as adults. They have an active women's ministry too.
The "Bethel India Pentecostal Church of Arizona" is a small sized church. It is the first India Pentecostal Church located in the state of Arizona.
There is, however, more number of Protestant churches than Catholic churches in Phoenix. Even more surprising is that there are ninety Lutheran churches situated here for people of Germanic origin. But, there are hardly 10% of the city's inhabitants who are Germans.

So, Churches have devised many programs related to problems faced by teenagers and they offer related therapies.
"Life Changers" is a non-profit Christian counseling service that relies on donations and does not charge anything for its counseling work. Its offices are located at Pinnacle Peak Road, University and Recker Road, Shea Blvd and N. 59th Avenue. Their life mentoring courses are useful to people who do not know how to restart their lives again. There are more and more number of individuals and couples who are going to these Churches for counseling as they have full faith in these counselors!
