The procedure of bleaching teeth has become increasingly popular. It seems everywhere you turn there is someone that has nice, white teeth due to bleaching. As we age, unfortunately we are all looking for ways to "turn back the clock". We exercise, we eat right and many of us take vitamins regularly to keep ourselves healthy.
Another way of looking younger is to have whiter teeth like we may have had when we were younger. Some people have never really had white teeth and bleach them at a young age. Nonetheless, it's safe to say that bleaching of the teeth has become very popular. When done properly it's a relatively safe, effective way to lighten our teeth without having to change the shape of the teeth at all as with crowns and veneers.
When a crown is made a tooth has to be drilled down to a peg so a beautiful new tooth (a crown), can be placed over the peg to look like a full tooth again. Only now the tooth is lighter and more cosmetic. A veneer is a thin white shell placed over the front of a tooth. But, again the tooth must be altered slightly to allow the veneer to fit. These options are always available and are still very effective in improving the color of one's teeth. They can even be used to make teeth appear straighter without ever placing braces on the teeth. But If someone only wants to alter the color of their teeth and not the shape, bleaching is a great alternative.
