Planning your wedding checklist

With everything there has to be a checklist. If you are getting married, there are simply too many things that you have to take into consideration to merely do things off the top of your head. It is usually a good idea to have a time frame for when you want things done.

For the period six to twelve months before you get married here are some things that you need to do. You have to choose what kind of wedding you want as well as the date and time of the wedding. Make sure you know exactly what your budget is going to be as well as who will be paying for what. You could also consider hiring a wedding planner or coordinator if you are not a diehard do it yourself fan. Make arrangements with whomever you will have officiating at the wedding. Make sure that you have the wedding location reserved. With most of them they require some kind of deposit, so make one hundred percent certain that your date is reserved. Anything can happen, and you really don't want to find out a few months away from the wedding that there is a problem with the venue.

Make sure that your guest list is approved by both families. In a perfect world you only invite the people that you want at the wedding. This is however not a perfect world and if all goes according to plan you will be spending a very long time being married and putting up with those families. Make sure you have an idea as to what kind of reception music you want. If you are planning to have live entertainment, make sure that it is booked well in advance.

For the period 4 to 6 months make sure you know what attire is required of everybody. You should have your colour scheme by now so make sure that everything conforms to what you want to have. If you have to have any medical examinations for a wedding license this is the time to do it. You can also select your wedding register at this time as well as gifts and patterns.

2 months before the wedding make sure that you have chosen your wedding bands and if you require engraving that it has been done. Ensure that you have ordered the wedding chocolates and the grooms cake and that you have confirmed with the master of ceremonies what exactly you want done. Plan your rehearsal dinner as well as making sure that you have made arrangements for any guests that require lodging. Plan your reception seating so that there are no surprises as are wont to happen. This is also a good time to make sure that you have the gifts for your bridesmaids and groomsmen. Make sure that your wedding invitations has been sent out in good time and start following up on their responses.

Once you have all of these things under control you can go ahead and get married without any stress. Maybe!
