Is Fast Weight Loss The Best Way To Lose Weight?

Is Fast Weight Loss The Best Way To Lose Weight?

People don't merely want to lose weight, they want to do it fast. This is also what a lot diet plans and products are promising because they want you to buy their product.

On the other side, there are those that say that losing weight fast is counterproductive and will likely results in you gaining all the weight back. Some say that this can even be unhealthy.

So, is losing weight fast the best way to go?

The answer is not so clear. I have nothing against losing weight fast. I think that it all depends on how you define what fast is. If you're trying to lose 3 pounds in a day then you will likely fail or have to do something very drastic. However, there are ways to lose weight quickly without going overboard.

I believe that the rate in which you lose weight is not the real issue. I don't want to get hung up on a specific number of pounds that you should limit yourself to. In my mind, the real issue is not how much you lose but whether you do it in a way which will make it simple for you to stick to your current plan and to maintain your weight loss in the future.

While it may be fun to lose 10 pounds in a week, the truth is that you need to judge your weight loss success or failure by how you do a year from now, and 2, and 5. You want to create a change in your body and your life that will last you for years.

So, the next time you get tempted by a product that promises a super fast fat loss, ask yourself whether this is a product that offers a method that you can stick to for a long time. Can you stick to this plan? Does it offer a sensible eating routine? Does it include healthy workouts? Is it too extreme or expensive to use?

If the program is only to be used for a short time to create a short term fast weight loss, make sure that you have a plan for the future. You need to know how to continue with the process of maintaining your new weight loss. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time and energy.

So, I have no problems with trying to lose weight fast. It's not being able to maintain it that I'm worried about.
