Allow them to talk to you with reasons and let them express themselves. As you children's best friend, they can confide to you anything without fear of punishment. This is bridging the gap of communication with the children. Be ready always to provide advise and comfort anytime. You are there for them to talk to when they need it the most.
Make them responsible children. Assign some simple chores at home like setting the table cloth, fixing the pillow, washing the spoon and fork, etc. Also, let them help in home gardening, water the plants and even painting the fence. Aside from making them responsible, you are also spending quality time with your children. Hugging and kissing them work wonder. These drive insecurities away from the children since, they feel both assured and accepted.
Children with strong confidence in themselves do better in life. They make good decision and are able to weigh the consequences in every situation. They are also able to help and influence other children.
