You might be elated to have got a good deal of your hotel rooms, but beware of any hidden charges. It can turn out be a night mare when you get your hotel bills on the day of departure. Do not feel deceived later, understand what are those possible concealed charges that you can avoid in future. Avoid any blunder in future!

Always remember to check on what are miscellaneous charges. If there is a star to highlight conditions apply find out what are those conditions. You may be happy to have got a low rate on your hotel rooms but do not miss out on the conditions below it. If there is nothing, then you are safe. Check on those possible charges and cost-reducers along with the hotel price.

If you are in a resort, check the resort fees. Do not forget to check on parking fees, early departure fine, internet usage charges, phone call charges (even the toll free calls may be charged at times). A hotel may boast about its fitness centre services but will not tell you that you will be charged if you use them. You get to know about that you were charged for it only on the day of your departure when you ask for a hotel bill. Some hotels have a penalty or fine for leaving the room early, find out if there is any such condition. Maid service, bellhop fee,

and housekeeping may also be charged in few hotels.

When they say there is free break fast, find out what is free the whole break fast on the platter or just bread and butter. They also have a timings for free break fast. Here is a catch, it is usually too early and you end up going after that time, not knowing that the breakfast is charged after that time.

Phone call charges, some times toll-free calls may be charged, not just local / international

Internet use charges

Bellhop fee

Housekeeping fees, maid service

Early departure fine

Taking the hotel shuttle from the airport used to be free, but it's likely to cost you now, and almost as much as taking a cab to your lodgings. If you use them thinking that the hotel shuttle service come free, ask again. There might be a bartender gratuity, think twice before you tell him to keep the change. You may be charged for bartenders service later in your bill. Avoid any such mistakes, keep yourself informed before you shift to that hotel.
