I always thought one needed money to have a good vacation. And with my meager salary of a few thousands per month, I never could imagine myself going on that dream vacation. That is, until I realized budget hotels could help me get what I was looking for- my very own special holiday.
All it took was a few searches on Google, and bang, there were tones of online portals out there which had an exhaustive list of budget hotels in practically every city of the world. I booked my hotel through myguesthouse.net, since I found the cheapest rates on this portal. But of course, there were others too, which were not far behind in terms of deals.
Of course, I was a little apprehensive to start with regarding the quality of the hotel and whether it would be up to the mark. But boy, I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know how budget hotels got to have this negative attached to them, because the hotel I stayed in had practically everything- from linen sheets to air conditioner, room service, in-room tea/coffee maker, a safe, an in-house restaurant- in short, everything a traveller could possibly need while on a holiday.
And the fact that I was getting all that at a few hundred bucks per night left me smiling at myself for grabbing such a good deal. Had I booked a star category hotel, I would have been paying a few thousand bucks per night, instead of a few hundred, with not much difference except some extra frills thrown in.
I now had extra money to splurge on sightseeing, adventure activities and shopping. I even bought my girlfriend a nice gift, and I am reaping the benefits of it till date.
If you ask me, budget hotels if chosen correctly could be a lot better than the four and the five stars. The fact that you get all the basic facilities and amenities along with excellent service standards at just a few hundred bucks leaves you with a lot more money to spend on other things on your holiday.
