national bank ratings? an

Reading national bank ratings BEFORE choosing a bank might be the smartest decision you make this year. So whats the best bank? Obviously thats based on a variety of factorssome of which will be more important to you than others. For instance the interest rate obviously isnt a HUGE issue if you only plan on having a checking account and the customer service might not matter if you plan on doing everything online. To account for that here is a THOROUGH review of 2 of the best banks in the country to help you determine if they are right for you. Bank of America This is one of the better banks out thereyou read that correctly. Dont believe everything you hear about themtheir customer service really isnt THAT bad. Here is a review of the 3 most important variables in ANY bank: #1) Customer service At least not in person. True, their over the phone service often leaves a LOT to be desired. So just try and always deal with someone in person and you should be fine. Financial standing Like a lot of banks today, their LONB TERM outlook is a bit shaky. They are currently rated an A which is based on their large amount of debt. But in comparison with their competition they are in decent shapethey arent going under anytime soon. Online system This is where they shinetheir internet system is 2nd to none. Wells Fargo This is another of the top banks out there. Like BOA they have been around a long time and have tons of customersso you know they arent going anywhere. Customer service Good but not greatmostly it depends on the branch. Again, its more of a hit or miss proposition over the phone, but in person its usually adequate. Online system Their online system is among the best out thereand theyve received plenty of national attention for it. Its simple to useand it has all the necessary features youd expect. If you plan on doing a lot of online banking I would STRONLGY recommend this oneits even better than BOA. Financial outlook Good but not greatthey are in better shape than a lot of others. Again, due to their size and saying power you know they will be in business a long time. Bottom line?
