Pick A Perfect Holiday In Prague

There are few places as enchanting as the capital of the Czech Republic. With an ancient castle, amazing sculptures and gorgeous bridges and cathedrals, you can rest assured that a trip to Prague will guarantee some amazing sights. Even a quiet walk through the streets of Prague is sure to reward you with glimpses of its architectural beauty, but don't be tricked into thinking this is all the city has to offer. You'll find that Prague has a modern heart beating within its historic exterior, making it an ideal travel destination for holidaymakers of all sorts.

There are some real must see spots in Prague, and the first has to be the castle. As the most popular tourist destination in Prague, you can expect some crowds, but getting an up close look at the world's largest ancient castle will mean it's more than worth it. If you're interested in history, you should also make sure you put aside plenty of time to explore the city's Old Town, where you'll discover inspiring sights such as Powder Tower and all of the historically important houses of Celetn Street.

The Jewish Quarter also offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and is well worth a trip. However, if you're more of a fan of the present day, plan to spend some time on the New Town and you'll find modern entertainments aplenty. Start off in Wenceslas Square, where you'll find shops, cinemas, office blocks, hotels, restaurants and cafs all ready and waiting for you. This busy square is the hub of modern Prague, and in its centre you'll find an impressive monument of St Wenceslas on a horse surrounded by the patron saints of the Czech Republic.

On the other hand, if you're looking for somewhere to relax, Charles Square offers the perfect solution. This park may be surrounded by busy roads, but once inside the atmosphere is tranquil and the many statues of famous writers, scientists and artists make it a particularly inspirational spot to stop for a seat.

Make sure you buy a bag of candied almonds when you're exploring the area on chilly nights or days, the taste will perfectly accompany your walk through the city, and stop off in one of its cafes for some excellent ice cream and coffee. Prague has a very efficient and cheap public transport system, so you'll be sure to find that once your Prague flights have landed, it's easy to get around and enjoy all there is to see in this fascinating city.
