My daughter is at the stage in life where she is too young for real makeup but too old to be fooled by the stuff you find in the dollar stores as well. She's at the stage where only kids pretend makeup that is both realistic and fake will do. Let's face it, why does anyone "need" or want kids pretend makeup? it's for mom's, not daughters. If daughters had their way it would be the real thing and they wouldn't mind the mess they would leave in the wake of their experiential play time. However, most kids pretend makeup is obviously fake. It doesn't look real or feel real. This is the most easily found. But, because it doesn't look or feel real, it will not do as a possible solution to the current crisis I find myself in, and perhaps you do as well. Another category that we see is kids pretend makeup that is quite expensive and usually consists of a piece of wood with a cartoon drawing of makeup on it which is also obviously fake and my daughter would rather use it as a rock for skipping than anything else.
