Like the age old tale of Rapunzel, a beautiful young girl is locked away in a mental health facility by her evil and conniving stepfather. In a few days time, she will by forced to have a lobotomy operated on her. Not wanting this to happen, the girl (Baby Doll) retreats into her own fantasy world within herself where her and numerous other inmates are plotting to escape the facility.

Before filming Sucker Punch, the cast, including Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung, all had to train for twelve straight weeks. The girls were told to deadlift weights up to 210 pounds each. Abbie Cornish tells that the girls in the firlm were training six hours a day, five days a week. Also, they were trained in martial art fighting using weapons. Also staring in this movie is Jon Hamm, playing the role of High Roller. Jon is famous for his role in the hit TV series 'Mad Men' with the role of alluding Don Draper and Oscar Isaac (Robin Hood, Che: Part one).
The movie lines is a mix between the fighting of 300 and Hell Boy with the plot of vengeance. With almost the entirety of the movie taking place in Baby Doll's head, the movie obscures what's fact and what's fiction. The girls fight in the fantasy world against hideous monsters such as grotesque orcs. To break free of the horrible asylum they're prisoned in, first they must retrieve five items. With that, they'll be able to break free. Together, they'll have to choose what they're willing to sacrifice to stay alive. Will they succeed in their path to freedom?
