Lean cuisine reviews : Chicken Marsela
Lean cuisine reviews : Chicken Marsela

I have recently decided to review the lean cuisine menu of frozen food items, this is no small task as their are over thirty different meal ideas that lean cuisine has on the market. Lean cuisine frozen meals are considered a diet conscious premade frozen dinner. Since the product is named lean cuisine they must follow a FDA mandate stating that any meal using the word lean must be under a certain amount of fat and trans fat . This gives them a great niche in an industry that now seems to be pushing weight loss and weight management to new level.

My second dish I reviewed was the Chicken breast in marsala wine sauce with green beans and carrots. This dish sounded amazing so I was a little worried about the final outcome. But once again lean cuisine surprised me and did a very good job at making me want more of their products. Here is the nutritional break down:

Calories per serving: 140

Serving: 1 tray, 9 oz

Fat: 6%, 4g

Sodium: 26%, 620mg

Cholesterol: 12%, 35mg

Protein: 14g

Carbohydrates: 4%, 12gg

Fiber: 12%, 3gg

Sugar: 4gg

When I first read the ingredients I was a little taken a back, 140 calories?? For a full meal that seemed a little absurd. I was picturing a dish with only one been, two carrots and half a baby chicken leg, but when I opened the pack the plate was full which was very surprising. Their was 't an overabundance of one vegtable either, it containted a great protion of boht green beens and carrots. Now make sure you follow the directions it's stated too only use 50 percent power to heat the meal instead of blasting it at full power. I don't know the difference if you use full power on the microwave but I decided to follow what the box tells me.

I really enjoyed this meal, the chicken was very moist and the vegetables tasted great. It was a great meal and for 140 calories. The sauce was a little runny but not enough for me to complain about it. I don't think I will be able to beat the overall package that the chicken marsela offers. But who knows I have over 20 dishes left to try.
