How Dr Nigel Sacks Became An Angel To The Sufferers Of Cancer

Having passed oncology surgery from the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia, Nigel Sacks flew to England where he pursued further studies and research works in the Royal Marshden Hospital. His two years long stay in England made him learn various valuable oncological topics as well as enriched him in the field of Hepato-cellular oncological treatment. This benevolent oncology surgeon could well have spent all his medical career in those high paying countries. He chose to work for patients of cancer of the third world countries such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka instead where people were reported to be wallowing under a miserable health care system. They had neither proper medication for such a deadly disease nor did they have many experienced oncologists and oncology surgeons.

Dr Nigel Sacks decided to travel to Pakistan first on a surgical sabbatical. Pakistan was known to him to be a society infested with fundamental clerics. The society looked cancer patients to be untouchable and kept them in a mode of exile without any knowledge that cancer was no way an infectious disease. Its causes are still unknown to their full extent. Nigel Sacks tried his hands in spreading the knowledge about the disease in the society. People of Pakistan listened to him for many reasons.

They saw that Dr Nigel Sacks had come with a mission, that was to alleviate the sufferings of the disease. He established a hospital named SKMCH & RC where he assembled expert and like minded oncologists from different corners of the country. They also agreed to contribute the share of their benevolence to the cause of alleviation of the disease.

Nigel Sacks and his associates made a decision not to charge the poor, and they took treatment fees from the rich instead, though the fees were very low compared to other health centers. Besides, Dr Nigel Sacks being a fund raiser from golf managed to arrive to the peak of the K2 with his philanthropic services from the plains of Pakistan. They had neither proper medication for such a deadly disease nor did they have many experienced oncologists and oncology surgeons.
