Special Card for Kids

Making personalized cards have always been the convention each time someone special celebrates his or her birthday and any other special occasion. Some would even say that a card that is personally made for that one special person carries more value than the most expensive gift that you could get. They say that such gift would soon lose it's value but the message and the emotion evoked by the personalized card would last forever.

But, this is totally a different case when it comes to the kids.

Kids love gifts. The idea of a surprise and the thrill that comes with it is something that they particularly enjoy. They look forward to their birthdays because of the mountain high gifts that they are about to receive. Majority of the kids are also more particular on the size of the gift. Some of them believe that the bigger the gift is, the better. Unlike grown-ups, they believe that great things come in big packages.

If this is the case, then we could say that giving a personalized card is not applicable to kids. But we're wrong. We should still take time to make a personalized card for kids. We should even in fact take more of our time in thinking about the best design and style to catch their attention. Giving thoughtful cards to kids could go a long way, more than what we can imagine actually. The thought that someone gave them a card and someone told them these wonderful things leave a lingering impression in their mind. This message has a power to affect their personality and the way they see the people around them as they grow older.

So, the challenge lies in how you would make a card that is appealing to kids. Making a card is challenging, but making a card for kids are a different story. In this category, minimalist attitude does not apply. You have to experiment with colors, provide different textures and experiment into various platforms and medium in order to make your card appealing. If you would have to use pop up designs, then you have to do it very carefully and perfectly.

Make sure that the card would display his or her favorite color dominantly. It would also help if you would a reference to a cartoon character in your card. Put a picture, sticker, hologram or anything that could refer to his or her favorite cartoon character. You could even include in the design a real toy or anything that could captivate his or her interest. Remember, our greatest enemy here is the attention span of children. We should get their attention and have them read the card, or else, the whole purpose of your personalized card with a very inspiring message would be defeated.
